Frequently Asked Questions
How is age calculated?
Your chronological age is the exact calendar time that has passed since your date of birth, expressed in years, months and days. The calculator uses a tested date library that handles leap years, month lengths and February 29 birthdays automatically.
What is the difference between chronological age and biological age?
Chronological age counts the calendar time since birth. Biological age estimates how old your body appears based on health markers such as blood pressure, fitness and lifestyle. They are often different.
How is the East Asian age calculated?
The traditional East Asian reckoning counts a baby as 1 year old at birth and adds another year on each new year (January 1 in the simplified form). That is why it is usually one year more than the Western age.
How is the zodiac sign determined?
The Western zodiac sign depends only on the month and day of birth, following the traditional date ranges (for example, 21 March - 19 April is Aries).
How many seconds have I been alive?
Multiply your age in days by 86,400, the number of seconds in a day. This calculator does it for you, right down to the second.
Why is my age different on other planets?
A 'year' is the time a planet takes to orbit the Sun. Since other planets orbit faster or slower than Earth, your age expressed in their years changes. For example, Mars takes 1.88 Earth years per orbit, so you are younger in Martian years.
